Installation Method for ICM65-A-027H6180 Electric Two-Way Regulating Valve
Refrigerant
Suitable for various non-flammable refrigerants, including ammonia and other non-corrosive gas/liquid working media (compatibility of sealing media must be considered). Not recommended for use with flammable and explosive hydrocarbon refrigerants. The valve should be used within sealed refrigeration systems. For more details, please contact Danfoss.
Temperature Range
Medium Temperature: -60℃/+120℃ (-76℉/+248℉)
Ambient Temperature: -30℃/+50℃ (-22℉/+122℉)
Pressure Range
Maximum Working Pressure: 52 bar g (754 psi g)
Technical Data
The ICM electric valve adopts a balanced valve core structure, and its function is controlled via a drive unit. The ICM electric valve can be applied to suction, liquid supply, hot gas, and gas-liquid mixed pipelines in refrigeration systems. The control signal obtained by the ICM electric valve through the drive module enables on/off or continuous regulation of the working medium. Please refer to the technical manual for relevant design and selection. The ICM electric valve is designed to be used with Danfoss's ICAD drive unit. The ICAD drive on the ICM is compatible with Danfoss controllers and other brand controllers, especially PLC controllers. Danfoss controllers or programmable (PLC) control signals actuate the motor of the ICAD drive, which rotates the ICM shaft through electromagnetic coupling to open and close the valve.
Valve Core
The valve core is optimally designed and equipped with a V-shaped flow port.
Valve Size
The size of the ICM electric valve can be adjusted according to different flow ranges. It ranges from ICM 20-A (Kv: 0.6 m³/h) to ICM 65-B (Kv: 70 m³/h). The modular concept allows for ordering individual components of the ICM electric valve or the entire valve as needed. Orderable components include the valve body, functional module, and electric valve drive unit.
Installation
The ICM electric valve and ICAD drive should be installed on horizontal pipelines, with the ICAD drive oriented upward (Figure 1). The top cover of the ICM valve can be rotated and installed in four 90° directions without affecting valve function. The drive unit can be fixed at any angle before tightening the four bolts (Figure 5, Position 13). The ICM electric valve must be installed according to the flow direction indicated by the arrow on the valve body. During the installation of the ICM electric valve, care must be taken to prevent refrigerant leakage and the entry of foreign objects into the valve body. The ICM electric valve is designed to withstand high internal pressure. Nevertheless, the pipeline system design must avoid liquid traps to prevent damage from excessive pressure due to thermal expansion. The pipeline design should consider effective protection against transient "liquid hammer" phenomena in the system. It is strictly prohibited to leave the outlet of the ICM electric valve unprotected and open to the atmosphere during system installation, as this may cause serious accidents. If it is necessary to install the valve at a position without a pipeline at the outlet, connect the valve outlet to the system via piping, or seal the valve outlet with a welded blind plate to ensure system safety.
